Decoration of the Order of the Rising Sun was awarded to Luis Vallejo on December 18, 2008 by S.M. The Emperor of Japan for his contribution to the dissemination and teaching of Bonsai art in Spain. The highest distinction with which the Government of Japan recognizes foreign citizens for their work in promoting Japanese culture in other countries.
The Delivery Act took place at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan in Spain, Mr. Motohide Yoshikawa.
